"I've been caught stealing once when I was 5.. I enjoy stealing, it's just as simple as that".
For years, I thought the line was "I didn't try to steal again, it's just as simple as that."
I was going to do a long blog post about how the song doesn't make sense because he's kind of obsessed about stealing for someone who hasn't tried it since he was 5. So I went to look up the actual lyrics, and boy, does it make much more sense the real way.
In the second verse, apparently the girlfriend "grabbed a razor for me", when I thought she "grabbed a present for me", which I thought was some kind of girl's shirt. Again, it makes much more sense the real way, though I guess a razor doesn't really seem like something worth stealing. But what do I know. When I want something, I'm just fine with paying for it.
Makes me wonder what other songs I've been singing loudly for years and been totally wrong about..
