Things are going a little better for me in the poker world- I've been starting to recover in the sit-and-go's that I play, and I did really well at a low-limit cash game over the last 2 days.
So I decided to try big tournaments again, which is something I've hardly ever done well. PokerStars ran a $.50 buyin tournament last night, so I decided to give it a try.
I actually did pretty good. I was lucky in that my good hands held up, and that when I got monster hands, people wanted to pay me off.
Eventually, I made the money (top 20%), for a whopping 89 cents. But it's not about the money, it's about the fact that I made it that far.
Then, soon after that, my AQ flopped top pair and I eventually lost everything to someone with AK, but oh well. I really don't have a good feel for how to act when the "regular" bet is a couple of thousand chips. That's more than I see in a regular 1-table sit-and-go.
Buy yay, looks like my bad run might be over (if I didn't just jinx myself).
