Lost with Lost

On Wednesday, when they advertised the "February Premiere" of Lost, my first thought was "uh-oh, that's not good". And sure enough, no new episodes until February.

Which sucks, but bot as badly as it might. That new "groundhog day"-like show that's taking its place looks kind of good, and I've got enough other things to watch. And 24 is starting up soon.

But sitting next to me was my wife, who's hated Lost and doesn't have the patience for the plotlines, and she was badmouthing the show. And I understand some of what she's saying- the whole "mystery of the island", black mist and zebras and whatnot I don't really get into. I also agree that they don't have a clue of what they're doing as far as long-term plans.

But I do think that they do have short-term vision. Things happen on this show. The whole hatch subplot came and went in one season--including why the plane crashed in the first place. I'm expecting major things to be revealed and resolved about the others this season.

So there's a difference between "don't know where they're going" and "don't know what they're doing." In this case, anyway..
